JAMES HENDERSON, MD

Family Physician

Doctor James Henderson is an Escambia County native of Tom Flomaton, Alabama. He is a board-certified Family Physician endorsed by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a graduate of Flomaton High School and has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama with an emphasis of studies in Rural Medicine. After receiving his doctorate from the UAB School of Medicine, he continued his education in Montgomery as a resident of the Montgomery Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Henderson is an Eagle Scout designee, an Alabama Rural Medical Scholar, and a recipient of the Daniel Carter Beard Masonic Scouter Award. He is a previous board member of the Alabama Academy of Family Practice and a previous Regional Medical Advisor to American Family Care. He is a certified DOT Medical Examiner. He has practiced primary care and acute care medicine in southeast Alabama since 2014. Dr. Henderson is the eldest of six children gifted to his parents, James and Renita Henderson. He is the grandson of Allen J. Henderson and Joyce Prestwood Henderson. Dr. Henderson has a 10-year-old daughter, Hayden Grace, who he loves immensely. Dr. Henderson is delighted with the opportunity to provide priority health care to the members of the Poarch Creek Indians.
